Connected Community Book Sales Program

A connected community may purchase and resell ASCD books at connected community functions, provided that the sale price is not lower than the ASCD nonmember price. Profits gained from the resale of these books should be for the benefit of the connected community only. A connected community will be able to buy materials at the nonmember price, less a 40 percent discount, and sell the materials at the nonmember price.

A connected community can add up to $5.00 per book, which is what ASCD charges for handling on any one order. If purchasers ask about the higher price, explain that they are saving on the handling they would pay if they ordered from ASCD, and that they are getting immediate use of the book.

Procedures for Receiving a Connected Community Discount on ASCD Books

1. Determine the items and quantities needed.
2. Have the connected community president place the order with the ASCD Service Center, at 1-800-933-2723, then press 2. ASCD will bill you for the order. All shipping and handling costs are the responsibility of your connected community.

Return of Unsold Materials

Connected community orders will be credited for all materials returned in a saleable condition within 30 days of the connected community function for which the products were ordered.

Follow these steps to return materials

1. Pack up the materials to be returned.
2. Include a short memo stating:
   Connected community name and location
   ASCD order number
   Reason for Return: Unsold Materials
   Number of units in package
3. Include a copy of the original shipping document or invoice that displays the ASCD order number.
4. Ship the materials by UPS, insured mail, or some other method that allows for tracking of your shipment to

If the materials do not arrive at the TASCO warehouse, your account will not be credited. All shipping and handling costs are the responsibility of your connected community.
