3. What is an ASCD password?

An ASCD password allows Members to:

• Review the status of your membership.
• Update your mailing preferences and contact information, including phone number and e-mail address.
• Renew your membership.
• Join your local affiliate.
• Get member pricing when shopping in the Online Store or registering for conferences and institutes online.
• Enjoy full access to the ASCD Online Library publications, which include Educational Leadership magazine, Education Update, ASCD Infobrief, and many more.
• Receive faster and more personalized service when shopping in the Online Store or registering for conferences and institutes online.
• Search the full-text version of your member books (Select and Premium members only).

An ASCD password allows Customers to:

• Review the status of your ASCD record.
• Update your mailing preferences and contact information, including phone number and e-mail address.
• Receive faster and more personalized service when shopping in the Online Store or registering for conferences and institutes online.
• Quickly and easily enroll if you choose to join ASCD.

4. I forgot my ASCD password. How do I retrieve it?

Click on Forgot your Username or Password? in the "Member Sign In" area located on the right side of each Web page.

• If you do not have your Member or Customer ID, please contact the Service Center by completing the online Contact Form.  
• If you have your Member or Customer ID, please click on Forgot Your Password located under the "Password" area. Enter your Member or Customer ID and your last name in the spaces provided, then click "Lookup." Your password will be sent by e-mail within the hour if we have an e-mail address on file. If there is not an e-mail address on file, your password with be sent by postal mail.
• All Institutional Members must contact us to have password information sent to an e-mail address of your choice.

We also offer the option to have your password sent to you by postal mail.

5. How do I print a printer-friendly version of a page from an ASCD publication?

Simply click on the "Print This Article" link located on the right side of each Web page. If you experience challenges, please contact us by phone or e-mail Web Help for assistance.

6. What forms of payment does ASCD accept?

ASCD accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, checks, purchase orders, and money orders. 

Online Store

We accept credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. You may use a purchase order online only if you are logged in and have previously used purchase orders when ordering from ASCD. If you have an item you would like to purchase via check, please download our PDF order form and mail it in with your check.

Memberships

ASCD accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, checks, purchase orders, and money orders. 

You may join or renew online using VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or a purchase order. 

Registrations

7. Does ASCD offer quantity discounts?

ASCD does offer quantity discounts for products. These discounts will automatically be reflected in your online orders.

For Books 

(For books only—no discounts on Building Academic Vocabulary student materials.)

• Buy 10 or more of the same title, save 10 percent.
• Buy 50 or more of the same title, save 15 percent.

For Videos

Buy 2 or more of the same video title, save 40 percent.

8. Does ASCD charge sales tax?

Actual shipping and tax costs will be applied during checkout. Please click here to access a full list of sales tax and GST charges for U.S. states and Canadian provinces.

All sales are in U.S. dollars. ASCD assesses and remits a Goods and Services Tax (GST), at a rate of 5 percent, from Canadian members and customers. Canadian members and customers are responsible for any additional taxes, duties, or fees. All members and customers outside the United States and Canada may also be subject to GST/VAT, to be charged when the order is delivered. All international taxes, duties, and fees are the responsibility of the customer; the international rate charged is dependent on individual country tax rates.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TAX EXEMPT

Orders placed under individual accounts will not receive tax-exempt status. If the order is for a school/organization/institution and you wish to receive both member pricing and tax-exempt status, please do not submit your order online and instead contact the Service Center at 1-800-933-2723 for support.

9. I didn't receive member prices on my last order. How do I get this corrected?

Please contact the ASCD Service Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. EST at 1-800-933-2723 or 1-703-578-9600. One of our Service Center consultants will be happy to assist you.

10. Does ASCD offer memberships for students or retired educators?

Student Membership

Student Membership offers the same benefits as Basic Membership for just $25.

Note: ASCD Student Membership is restricted to full-time students enrolled in an accredited college or university. Please include proof of enrollment status: class schedule, a photocopy of a valid school ID, or other form of supporting documentation of enrollment.

Retired Membership

Choose from Basic, Select, or Premium membership for half the standard dues rate.

Note: Retired Membership is available to active ASCD members with at least one full year of membership.
