ASCD's 2008–2011 Strategic Plan
ASCD has embarked on the journey from success to significance. Our past successes serve as the foundation for our future, but being successful is not enough. Significance requires us to go beyond our current boundaries, reaching for higher levels of influence and accountability to our stakeholders.
To achieve significance, the Association has developed a new three-year strategic plan that will transform our mission, vision, and key organizational drivers for the 21st century. The new strategic plan creates the opportunity for ASCD to develop a stronger, more influential voice for education.
Mission
ASCD is a membership organization that develops programs, products, and services essential to the way educators learn, teach, and lead.
Vision
ASCD is the worldwide leader in learning, teaching, and educational leadership. We provide expert and innovative solutions for addressing the opportunities and challenges learners face in the 21st century. We engage and connect diverse communities dedicated to the success of each learner.
Key Organizational Drivers
Key organizational drivers, defined as the primary areas of focus, are crucial to ASCD's continued success. These drivers are:
- Advance ASCD's Whole Child Initiative.
- Expand ASCD's financial capacity.
- Grow and engage ASCD's diverse community.
A strategic plan is really just words that have no meaning without your involvement and your commitment. As a key stakeholder in the success of each learner, whether you are an educator, school administrator, business leader, legislator, or parent, you can be an invaluable part of positive change for all learners worldwide.
