Night Sky with Google Earth

 

On the surface, Google Earth may appear to be just a fun way to look at satellite images, but the numerous functions and tools embedded in the program make it ideal for teaching a wide array of subjects in the classroom. The Sky function allows users to explore the solar system and is a no-brainer for teaching about space and science. Google offers tips for educators who want to use the program to teach.

As you watch the video, consider whether you see an educational value in using such technology in the classroom. If you are familiar with Google Earth and its various tools, have you already incorporated it into your teaching?
