Teacher Reboot Camp

If you are working with English language learners (ELLs) and looking for innovative ways to spice up lesson plans and integrate technology, you may want to visit Teacher Reboot Camp, the blog of Shelly Terrell.

Every week Terrell, who has taught ELLs in the United States and Germany, posts a roundup of Web sites and tools of interest to ELL teachers. She also regularly shares anecdotes from her classroom.

One recent post describes using the Web site Breaking News English with ELLs. The site combines brief news articles with podcasts of the content and additional learning tools designed to help readers learn English. Terrell describes the process of integrating the Web site into her lesson and shares feedback from students. In addition, she demonstrates using screencast software to communicate with students about the lesson.
