Get the Whole Conference Experience
ASCD is excited you're joining us in San Francisco, Calif., for education's premier professional development conference, the 66th Annual Conference and Exhibit Show. As an attendee, presenter, or exhibitor, you'll join colleagues to explore what committed educators are doing to support great teaching and ensure a great education for every student.
When booking your flight or hotel, we encourage you to start your conference experience early with a three-, two-, or one-day Pre-Conference Institute on March 23–25. From there, you can continue on to our complimentary Welcome Reception on Friday, March 25, which officially kicks off the Annual Conference. Join us to network with other educators as well as meet with your Professional Interest Communities, formerly known as Networks, at selected tables.
Plan to stay through the conference's end on Monday, March 28, to experience all of our speakers, visit Whole Child Central, and walk through our great Exhibit Show.

Flights to San Francisco and Ground Transportation
There are two airports in the San Francisco-Oakland area:
Taxis
- It’s approximately $40 for a one-way trip from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to downtown San Francisco hotels. Fares are subject to change.
- It’s approximately $75 for a one-way trip from Oakland International Airport (OAK) to downtown San Francisco hotels. Fares are subject to change.
Sustainable Airport Transportation
BART has direct service from the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and the Oakland International Airport (OAK). We highly recommend taking BART. It’s the convenient, inexpensive and eco-friendly way to get to and from the airport to San Francisco for the ASCD Annual Meeting. FACT: Taking BART keeps 22 lbs. of emission per passenger out of the air.
BART/ASCD Advance Purchase Voucher
In association with BART, we’re offering a quick and easy way to get your round-trip transfer from SFO to San Francisco. If you’re arriving at SFO, we encourage you to purchase your transfer in advance. Get a BART/ASCD Voucher now and you won’t have to wait in line at the station to buy a ticket. Just print the voucher, take it with you, and exchange it at SFO for a BART ticket. It’s that easy. Click here to purchase your BART/ASCD SFO to San Francisco transfer.
BART SFO Voucher Exchange and Transfer Directions
The BART station and the Voucher Exchange desk are located in the SFO International Terminal-G. To get there, take the SFO Airtrain Blueline from Terminals 1, 2, or 3 to the Terminal-G stop. Exit the Airtrain, turn right, and go down the escalator. The Voucher Exchange desk is at the bottom of the escalator a few yards from the BART station entrance. Passengers arriving at the international terminal should turn right upon leaving customs and follow the signs to the escalator up to the departure level. Follow the sign at the top of the escalator to the Voucher Exchange/Information desk or to the station.
BART Directions from OAK
Go to the AirBART shuttle stop on the traffic island and take the AirBART bus. Deposit $3.00 in the AirBART fare box when you board. If you don’t have a ticket, you can purchase a round-trip ticket at the Coliseum station for $7.60. Proceed upstairs and take a San Francisco– or Daly City–bound train. It usually takes 45 minutes to take the AirBART shuttle and BART to San Francisco. Make your trip easier by purchasing your BART OAK tickets in advance. Click here to purchase OAK transfer tickets.
