ASCD Attendees Catch the Twitter Bug

Conference Daily Quick Links

Conference goers are sharing session resources via wikis, live blogging, Google Docs, UStream, and even tagging us on Hitchhikr. And how are they letting other attendees and ASCD fans know about all this content? Twitter, and specifically following people using the #ascd09 Twitter hashtag, has taken this year’s conference beyond boundaries in ways we couldn't have predicted.

Here’s just a sampling of some of #ascd09 Twitter chatter:

angelapowell: Live blogging: “Using Neuroscience to Engage Learners Who Live in Poverty” http://inpractice.edublogs.org/

wcarozza: Had conversation with staff from MAJOR ed tech org who doesn’t take Twitter seriously for educators. Maybe I swayed her?

tidertechie: Any way to access the shared google docs participants are talking about from conference if didn’t attend?

nitinjulka: Great question — “how do I connect with people in other countries?” Avg answer — “Go to my wiki.”

mikesansone @wcarozza: Ironic that schools will publish the student’s name and photo in the newspaper, but not online. What’s that?

Mbessette: Interactive Gaming is a new form of literacy.

pjhiggins: Kagan: why would you spend a whole weekend grading if leads to no new learning?

paulawhite: If you’re not following @pjhiggins, he is doing an AWESOME job of tweeting the sessions he’s attending at #ASCD09

JasonFlom: Good advice for differentiating with students or teachers: teach up.

dwsutherland: Hanratty: Lesson Study is not about creating a “perfect” lesson.

dennisar: #ascd09 waiting to interview Eileen Collins: inspiration, creativity, climate change, biodiversity and K12 ed http://twitpic.com/24her

LuvOrHate: RT @shutupmeg: (@chollingsworth) RT @paulawhite: I LOVE “workbook pages= shut up sheets!” Thanks @pjhiggins from Doug Fisher at #ascd09

AngelaMaiers: Fisher/Frey - We would never get from good to great if we are not forced to make meaning with other people

ncara: Following ASCD virtually, as well. Enjoyed the post on gathering conference posts via Twitter

twelchky: @dwsutherland Why reimagine SCHOOL? We should reimagine learning — school is just one app on a “learning iPhone”

edteck: Figured out how 2 network at #ASCD09 conference remotely with Twitter tools/a live WordCloud. How to http://tinyurl.com/d9qgqg
