ASCD Announces Upcoming Conference on Educational Leadership
Alexandria, VA (7/11/2013)—ASCD, the global leader in providing programs, products, and services that empower educators to support the success of each learner, is hosting the association’s Conference on Educational Leadership on November 1–3, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nev. The conference promises to guide educators of all levels to add new ideas to their leadership knowledge base, focus on what matters most in leadership, and connect them with global education leaders.
Each session is designated with an experience level to guide attendees to sessions that target their specific learning needs. Sessions are assigned levels that range from introductory (for participants with limited to no previous experience with presentation content) to advanced (for participants who are very familiar with the content but want more advanced information).
The conference will feature more than 90 sessions, including three General Sessions:

Eric Jensen, Education Consultant, Maunaloa, Hawaii
- Saturday, November 2: College and Career Readiness: What We Know, What We Can Do
David Conley, University of Oregon, Eugene, Ore.
- Sunday, November 3: Passion-Driven Leadership: A Commitment to Student Success

In addition to unmatched professional development sessions, the ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership will feature events for attendees, including a welcome reception, networking breakfasts and discussions, author talks, a keynote luncheon with Robert J. Marzano, debriefing sessions, and a focus group session. Featured speakers include ASCD authors James H. Stronge, William Parrett, Jay McTighe, and Carol Ann Tomlinson.
“We know that the importance of school-level leadership is beyond dispute, but the complexities of leadership responsibilities are more challenging now than ever before,” said Dr. Gene R. Carter, Executive Director and CEO of ASCD. “We designed the ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership in order to provide educator leaders the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills, as well as meet and collaborate with their peers from around the world.”
