Developing Teacher Leaders for Increased Student Learning

When professional development and reflective practitioners are designed to meet the challenges of diverse urban learners, student learning is increased. Learn how high teaching standards are woven in with strong instructional strategies in an urban district to produce teacher leaders and curriculum coaches. Learn strategies for lesson study, differentiating instruction, establishing challenging learning environments, and using culture as an enabler in urban schools. Participants will realign current teaching practices to share with teacher leaders and instructional coaches to facilitate schoolwide professional development for student learning.
