Share Your Winning Strategies in Education Update
There's no better way to approach a challenge than to learn from someone who's been in a similar situation. That's why we're launching "Road Tested," a new column in ASCD's member newsletter Education Update. Written by practitioners for practitioners, "Road Tested" provides educators with a platform to share tried and true strategies for learning, teaching, and leading. We welcome your original submissions of 500–600 words describing a challenge you faced in your school or district and the steps you took to overcome it. Author Correction
Author Richard Rothstein has made the following correction to his article titled "Why Our Schools Are Segregated," which appeared in the May 2013 issue of Educational Leadership:
Desegregation efforts are impermissible if students are racially isolated not from government policy but because of societal discrimination, economic characteristics, or what Justice Clarence Thomas, in a concurring opinion, termed "any number of innocent private decisions, including voluntary housing choices."
