EL Study Guide on iTunes U
The free study guide created for each issue of Educational Leadership is now available on the ASCD channel of iTunes University (iTunes U). Hosted by Apple, iTunes U enables schools and other organizations to share free courses.
The study guide, which poses provocative questions focused on key articles to help teachers explore the ideas in each issue of EL, appears as a "course" on iTunes U. The courses are enhanced by links to other ASCD materials, such as podcasts, Talks with an Author interviews, and theme-related webinars.
Readers can download individual guides or subscribe to all future study guides through iTunes. The study guide—and all of ASCD's iTunes U content—is available free for use on iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Just download the iTunes U app and search for "ASCD."

EduCore
Welcome to EduCore, ASCD's newest resource for implementing the Common Core State Standards. Here, educators will find research-based instructional materials proven to support student achievement. The math resources, created by the Shell Centre, which is known around the world for its innovative work on mathematics education, help teachers increase their use of formative assessments. The literacy resources, designed by the Literacy Design Collaborative, offer a template task bank that content-area teachers can use to meet the literacy standards.
The online aspect of EduCore enables educators to pull up lessons, sample units, and related resources on their smartphone, iPad, or any other mobile device. Teachers may choose to view materials online or simply print the PDF and save a hard copy. Teachers can save favorite lessons or resources on the My Resources tab and deepen their learning by reflecting in the My Journal section of the site. Log in using your ASCD member ID—or simply register to create a free account—and you're on your way to smoother implementation of the standards.
The Whole Child Has a Network of Schools!
Ten schools from across the continental United States and Guam have been chosen to participate in ASCD's Whole Child Network. These schools have committed to a comprehensive school improvement process that uses the tenets of the Whole Child Initiative—healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged—and their indicators as a sustainable whole child approach to education.
Facilitated in partnership with ASCD's Whole Child Programs staff, on-site professional development will introduce the whole child approach to education within each participating school's community and support its implementation on the basis of data from the new ASCD School Improvement Tool and in correlation with each school's improvement plans.
The 2012 Whole Child Network of Schools includes
