Awards Roundup!
AAP 2016 REVERE Awards
Educational Leadership received REVERE Awards for both the Best Overall Publication and the magazine with the Best Overall Editorial content in the Association of American Publishers' professional magazine division. In addition, EL was named a REVERE finalist for Best Theme Issue (September 2015, "Questioning for Learning") and Best Cover (March 2015, "Culturally Diverse Classrooms"). One of the judges commented,
This magazine is a winner. Its sharp editorial focus in each issue provides a consistent stream of thinking from cover to cover. With this total-topic approach, the editorial team can tackle all sides of the issue. After reading an issue, readers feel well-informed rather than just more informed.
In the category of Professional Resources, ASCD won REVERE Awards of Excellence for two books, Questioning for Classroom Discussion: Purposeful Speaking, Engaged Listening, Deep Thinking by Jackie Acree Walsh and Beth Dankert Sattes; and Leading for Differentiation: Growing Teachers Who Grow Kids by Carol Ann Tomlinson and Michael Murphy.

Whole Child Program Report
As ASCD continues to support the whole child through our products and services, we also continue to showcase examples of schools and individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to the whole child. One way we do this is through our annual Vision in Action: The ASCD Whole Child Award. One school each year receives this award for its outstanding sustainable and systematic commitment to making sure each child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. This award nomination process for 2017 is underway, and the 2017 Vision in Action winner will be announced at ASCD's Empower17 conference in March 2017.
Visit www.ascd.org/visioninaction to see how to nominate a school to apply for this award, and learn more about how the 2016 winner, Jason Lee Middle School, has used community partnerships to support the whole child in Tacoma, Washington.
