About the authors

Clare R. Kilbane is a professor at the University of Notre Dame, where she educates future teachers, designs curriculum materials, and conducts research on education. She also serves as the director of research and development for online education at the McGrath Institute and is its senior learning designer. A former elementary school teacher, Kilbane has 20 years of experience working in teacher education.

She has authored many videos and multimedia products as well as more than 35 articles, book chapters, papers, and reviews. Kilbane has a degree in elementary education from the University of Dayton, a master's degree in instructional design and technology from The Ohio State University, and a doctorate in educational evaluation from the University of Virginia.
