The ASCD School Improvement Tool

Ensuring that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged requires educators to continually ask questions and examine evidence related to school policies and practices. ASCD's free School Improvement Tool provides a guide for school improvement based on whole child indicators. Use the tool and indicators to
  • Assess sustainable implementation of a whole child approach across school climate and culture, curriculum and instruction, family and community engagement, leadership, staff capacity, and assessment.
  • Guide decision making and set strategic goals and outcomes.
  • Identify resources to meet school and community needs.
  • Prepare students for postsecondary education, meaningful employment, and active citizenship in a global society.
Visit www.ascd.org/wholechild to access the ASCD School Improvement Tool and download a copy of the whole child indicators.
