Carol Rolheiser is associate dean, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto (OISE/UT). She is a committed leader in school district and university partnerships, concentrating on teacher education reform, teacher development, school improvement, and managing educational change. Rolheiser's professional experience includes work as an elementary school teacher, district consultant, and school administrator. She has chosen a multidimensional scholarship path, but continues to be strongly based in cooperative learning, an area of research, development and teaching expertise. Rolheiser's work as a teacher, researcher, and international staff development consultant has emphasized instructional and assessment innovation, including portfolio assessment and student self-evaluation. Her work is reflected in a range of publications, including many journal articles and book chapters. She has coauthored an interactive resource book, Cooperative Learning: Where Heart Meets Mind, and edited Self-Evaluation: Helping Students Get Better At It!
