Georgea M. Langer

Georgea M. Langer is a professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Eastern Michigan University (since 1985) and coordinator of a grant to improve teacher quality through a student-teaching performance assessment that documents K—12 student learning gains. She is a former middle school foreign language teacher and holds a doctorate in educational psychology from Stanford University. Langer has published extensively (also as Georgea M. Sparks and Georgea M. Sparks-Langer) in the areas of staff development, teacher education, and teachers' reflective decision making in publications including Journal of Educational Psychology, Educational Leadership, The Journal of Teacher Education, and The Journal of Staff Development. She has presented workshops nationally and internationally with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), Phi Delta Kappa, and for several states, counties, districts, and schools.
