Lynsey Burkins is a 3rd grade teacher who has been an educator for the past 20 years. She works toward creating anti-racist spaces where children feel free, have agency, and know they are loved. Burkins is the outgoing National Chair of the National Council of Teachers of English’s Build Your Stack, an initiative that works to build teacher’s expertise in knowing and using quality literature in the classroom. She is the co-author of Classroom Design for Student Agency (NCTE, 2023) and the forthcoming book In Community with Readers (Stenhouse, 2024) with Franki Sibberson.
