Two ASCD Board Members Recognized for Outstanding Leadership

We are proud to share the news that two members of ASCD's Board of Directors have earned recent recognition for their achievements in district leadership. Avis Williams, the vice president of ASCD's board and the superintendent of Selma City Schools in Selma, Alabama, has been recognized as one of two finalists for the AASA Women in School Leadership Award (the winner will be announced in February 2022). The award recognizes the talent, creativity, and vision of outstanding educational administrators in the nation's public schools. Noris Price, superintendent of Baldwin County Schools, in Milledgeville, Georgia, has been named the 2022 Georgia Superintendent of the Year by the Georgia School Superintendents Association and has been named one of four finalists for AASA's Superintendent of the Year.

EL’s experienced team of writers and editors produces Educational Leadership magazine, an award-winning publication that reaches hundreds of thousands of K-12 educators and leaders each year. Our work directly supports the mission of ASCD: To empower educators to achieve excellence in learning, teaching, and leading so that every child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
