Transforming a Child's Relationship to their Education: Removing Barriers to Authentic Classroom Engagement
In each of our schools and classrooms, there are children who are distant and disconnected from their educators and their education. Post-pandemic dislocation has accelerated this reality for too many. In this workshop, participants will explore a new framework for understanding and transforming a student's connection to the classroom so they can believe classroom engagement, positive social outcomes, and increased academic success can be for them. Educators will dig into why some children disidentify with their education and will build immediately useful strategies to close those trust and connection gaps. Educators will walk away from this session with the classroom ready strategies based on Alexs Pate's book The Innocent Classroom practice of identifying and removing barriers to each child’s success.
